Friday, 10/24

8:00p. Digital smorgasbord.

Performance Hall. Approx. 75 minutes. New works for live performers, with each piece featuring electronics, usually joined by an acoustic instrument.  For this concert all of the composers and performers are traveling to Kirksville to participate in this event!  We will also show two unusual video/music creations.


 Saturday, 10/25

1:30p. New improvisation.

Instrumental room (2340). 50 minutes. Music-creation in real time.  Two separate jams. 1. Truman All-Stars featuring faculty artists on percussion, saxophone, trombone and, electronics. 2. Alum Theodore Moore returns with his latest work for saxophone , video, and electronics eclipse.

2:45p. pincushioned.

Instrumental room (2340). 50 minutes. Dueling laptops from Arizona perform far-reaching music with video and robots!  Douglas Nottingham and Barry Moon in concert as pincushioned. Go to their page to get a sense of what you will experience.

4:00p. New Music-Theater

Severns Theatre. 50 minutes. Must-see excerpts from  two brand new works for the stage.  Beautiful Dreamer chronicles the inner lives of a group of high school students and their sometimes dangerous fantasies.  We Foxes follows a young vagabond who tries to escape the clutches of a scheming small town Missouri socialite. Truman students will perform the excerpt in a semi-staged concert production.

6:30p. Amy X Neuburg.

Performance Hall. 50 minutes. Amy X Neuburg performs her unique solo song compositions while playing electronic percussion and other wondrous gizmos.

7:30p. A short conversation with Amy.

Performance Hall. 20 minutes. Amy X Neuburg talks about her new composition for the Truman Percussion Ensemble, Crowd Source, which will be performed on the 8pm concert.

8:00p. New ensemble works.

Performance Hall. 80 minutes. This concert features acoustic compositions performed by Truman faculty and guests; the compositions are by leading composers and well as works composed by members of the Truman community.  The program will finish with a newly commissioned work, Crowd Source, by Ms. Neuburg for the Truman Percussion Ensemble.
